Book Consultation
Botulinum toxin injections are the most well-known and popular treatment for removing facial wrinkles. Botox is simply the brand name of one manufacturer of this treatment, while Vistabel is the most commonly used version in our region.

Treatment Limitations

  • Existing medical conditions causing muscle weakness, including motor neuron diseases (such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and myasthenia gravis
  • Infection at the injection site
  • Previous allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to botulinum-A
  • Botulinum-A should also be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Certain medications that enhance the effects of botulinum-A should be avoided. These include tetracycline antibiotics and aminoglycoside antibiotics.
  • Blood thinners — including aspirin, warfarin, and dabigatran — increase the risk of significant bruising at injection sites.

How Does Botox Work and What Is It Used For?

Botulinum toxin injections prevent muscles from moving, thereby reducing facial wrinkles. They are most commonly used for wrinkles between the eyebrows, on the forehead, and around the eyes extending toward the temples, which appear when we smile.

Botox is also used to treat neck spasms, excessive sweating, overactive bladder, lazy eye, and other conditions. The toxin used in these injections can also help prevent migraines.

Wrinkle-reduction injections usually start to take effect 1 to 3 days after treatment, although it can take a week or more to see final results. Depending on the condition being treated, the effect can last 3 to 6 months.

Procedure Duration: The procedure is very short, lasting about 15 minutes.

Post-Procedure Care: After the treatment, you should avoid: bending your head down, sunbathing, saunas, plucking or waxing the treated area

Recommended Number of Treatments: The effects last 3 to 6 months. It is recommended to wait at least 3 months between treatments.
