Male Breasts Reduction- Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is a benign enlargement of male breasts that occurs due to an increase in glandular breast tissue and the accumulation of subcutaneous fat. Statistically, every third man under the age of 40 suffers from some level of gynecomastia, and over the age of fifty, almost half of them have enlarged male breasts.

Gynecomastia cannot be prevented, but it can be corrected with surgical intervention.

The first step is a preoperative examination of the patient, which determines whether it is excess fat or glandular tissue, or a combination of both changes. The approach to each patient is strictly individual and a thorough personal and family history is taken. An endocrinologist’s consultation is also necessary to determine if there is another cause of swelling of the breast tissue.

Male breast reduction is performed by liposuction, under local anesthesia, through a small opening in the skin. In rare cases, excess tissue must be removed surgically with minimal scarring.

We will help you determine which treatment is best for you.
